Last week model, designer and yeah, OK, heiress Nicky Hilton appeared at the gorgeous new Belk store at Galleria Dallas, drawing hundreds of acolytes to hear her talk about her newest endeavor: book author.
The title of her recently released book, 365 Style, refers not to the number of days in the year, but to a fun, unusual system that Hilton created to help women of any age, lifestyle or income acquire, organize and enjoy their wardrobe more…
“It saddens me that girls feel they need a designer dress… Anyone with a credit card can get a designer dress; it’s how you paint that dress, or the one you got at Zara or Forever 21, with accessories, makeup, your hair. Make it your own.” she told us. “It’s a combination of attitude and originality with your accessories…”

“Last week, I was treated to a sneak peek at the fashion trends for the upcoming Fall season as forecasted by Arlene Goldstein, VP of Trend Merchandising and Fashion Direction for Belk. Arlene showcased the looks that customers will be shopping at Belk for Fall for men and women.”

Amber Mills, a 31-year-old Hurst woman, recently created a wedding gown out of bathroom tissue — and it was impressive enough to land her a third-place prize in the Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com 10th Annual Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest sponsored by Charmin.
Contestants were tasked with making a wedding dress and headpiece using only Charmin brand toilet paper, tape, glue, and a needle and thread. It also had to be worn by a real person. Mills, who decided on a vintage theme inspired by old Hollywood glamour, upped the ante by only using vintage blue and green toilet paper she found on eBay…
The Hurst mom received $2,500 for her third-place finish and plans to use the money to catch up on bills and buy a new purse.
